The United Nations Committee allocated specific amounts to implement the Kuwait Environmental Remediation Program (KERP), which consists of six main projects, and numerous sub-projects, carried out by executing entities/ stakeholders, including:
EXECUTING ENTITIES/STAKEHOLDERS
The executing entities, through their dedicated teams, prepare and launch tenders, award contracts, and manage all Kuwait Environmental Remediation Program (KERP)-related projects
● Kuwait Oil Company (KOC)
● Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAF)
● Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy (MEW)
SUPPORTING ENTITIES
● Ministry of Defense: Removes unexploded ordnance and certifies areas as free of such materials.
● Environment Public Authority (EPA): Provides regulatory oversight and issues necessary environmental approvals for projects.
● Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR): Conducts environmental monitoring and observation activities.
