The Program’s management and administration infrastructure is made up of a Board, supported by an international Advisory Panel, and a Secretariat, underpinned by robust accounting and treasury systems and procedures, as well as adequate and coherent audit processes; and transparent procurement processes.
The projects are contracted and executed by different entities of the Government. The management structure and infrastructure for the KERP is designed to ensure the appropriate use of UNCC award funds for the successful execution of the projects.
In accordance with the Assurances provided to the UNCC by the Kuwaiti Government, the strong management and administration infrastructure, established for the Program in consultation with the UNCC must be maintained through the lifetime of the Program.
The Board is headed by a Cabinet Minister of the State of Kuwait as Chair and includes, as members, the Secretary General of the KNFP Secretariat, and representatives of the Government entities involved directly or indirectly in the execution of the KERP projects
Headed by a Secretary General, the Secretariat, is responsible, on behalf of the State of Kuwait, for the daily oversight of the Program. The Secretariat ensures that the Program is implemented in accordance with the obligations of the State of Kuwait under relevant decisions of the UNCC Governing Council and the Assurances of the State of Kuwait to the UNCC.
The nature and size of the Secretariat has continued to evolve along with the progress in the implementation of the Program.
